Responsibilities

Our division is currently seeking a manager in the Practice Assessment and Enhancement Department. Liaising with a number of internal and external stakeholders the manager will be responsible for management of the College’s assessment programs, specifically of Independent Health facilities and Out of Hospital Premises. This role also has oversight of the support team to four Quality Management Committees. The manager serves as a support to the Premises Inspection Committee in assisting them to make decisions regarding individual assessment and overall policy direction.

Using strong communication and problem solving skills, this role interacts with the membership and other key stakeholders in response to program-specific issues and questions. The manager will also develop and deliver presentations to internal and external groups regarding the College’s practice assessment and enhancement programs. Working closely with the Assessor Network Coordinator, the manager will oversee the recruitment and training of assessors to execute assessment protocols. In addition, the manager will be responsible for supervision and managerial duties including team building, staff direction and supervision, training, and objective setting.

Qualifications

  • University degree (graduate level) in health studies/administration, social sciences, public administration, education, business or equivalent; or equivalent combination of experience and knowledge with preference for professional designation in area of Nursing, Social/Health Sciences or related disciplines. Commitment to continued self-development.
  • Policy development and project management experience required.
  • Experience and direct application of principles of assessment, clinical quality assurance and improvement and knowledge translation are preferred.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
  • Superior analytical skills and demonstrated creative problem solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (public speaking / presentation skills essential).
  • Collaborative decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to address sensitive situations
  • Assets include program development and evaluation, previous management / supervisory experience, experience in a regulatory environment applying legislation and regulations as well as knowledge of adult education concepts
  • Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment and experience with data base applications
