The CPSO's role and authority is defined by government legislation and College by-laws
The role of the College and its authority and powers are set out in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), the Health Professions Procedural Code, which is Schedule 2 to the RHPA, and the Medicine Act. In addition, there are regulations made under both the RHPA and the Medicine Act.
