2015 CPSO Annual Report is Now Online!

2015 was a busy year in which the College worked hard to empower and engage Ontarians – by providing more information to enable decision-making, by requesting an expansion of the opportunities for your voices to be heard; and by protecting your rights to access health care.

Opioids: Finding the Right Balance

Prescribing opioids under the right conditions is critical for good patient care. If your doctor prescribes opioids to you, it is important that you and your doctor work together to navigate the challenges of pain management.

Protecting Patients from Sexual Abuse

The College is continuing its work with the ministry of health and other health care partners to improve the existing legislative and regulatory framework to ensure patient protection from physician sexual abuse.

Medical Assistance in Dying: Early Lessons Learned

Since the June passage of the federal government’s legislation on medical assistance in dying and the release of our own updated policy, the College has continued to provide guidance and advice to physicians and the public when they have questions about this issue.

Current Policy Consultations: Have Your Say

The College regularly conducts public consultations to obtain feedback from the public and physicians on new and revised policies, as well as existing policies that are under review. Currently, we have two open consultations.

Invite Us to Your Next Community Meeting

Do you have questions about the College and the work we do to protect the public and regulate physicians? Consider inviting a College speaker to your next meeting.
