Dr. Anil Chopra

Anil is a Medical Advisor and the Associate Registrar at CPSO. He brings his many years of medical experience to provide oversight over various areas of the College, including Investigations and Resolutions, Policy, Governance, and Communications. Prior to his current role, he was a member of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee at CPSO from 2011 to 2021, including as Chair from 2019 to 2021. Anil takes a collaborative, patient-centred approach to his work at the College, recognizing the many complexities of practising medicine, and, most of all, helping to ensure that CPSO is serving the public interest in everything we do through the lens of right-touch regulation.

Anil received his MD at the University of Toronto (UofT) in 1989 and received his specialist certificate in Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1994. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at UofT.
