Mary Bayliss joined CPSO in February 2020 as the Director of People and Organizational Development. Later, her role expanded to the Director of Quality Programs. Mary has a clinical background as a respiratory therapist, working in Ontario and in the United Arab Emirates. Her career as a front-line therapist evolved into a patient education, specifically helping patients with asthma and COPD learn to self-manage their disease. Throughout her career, Mary has held several leadership positions including the Deputy Registrar of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, hospital Manager and Director positions and most recently worked as a Quality Auditor and Team Development Coach for ProResp, a community respiratory therapy provider. In addition to her training as a respiratory therapist, Mary holds a master’s degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph, certificates in Adult Education from Brock University and George Brown College, and is a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists. Mary also acquired certifications in investigations, coaching and mentoring, project management, quality improvement and Lean.
