Physician Board and Committee members can earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits for participating on the CPSO Board and/or a committee. Here’s how:
The College of Family Physicians of Canada
- You may claim non-certified credits for participation on a CPSO committee. You can count the time spent participating at committee meetings, and also the time spent on the work of the committee.
- Go to cfpc.ca/login
- Click on the large Mainpro+ logo
- Click on ENTER A CPD ACTIVITY – green button below your name (in the top left of the screen)
- Select the Category type and click on Self-Learning
- Click on Non-Certified
- Choose Committee participation from the drop-down menu
- Click on CONTINUE – green button the bottom right
- Fill out the form and click on submit at the bottom of the Your form will be submitted for review
- You can also earn certified credits by completing a Linking Learning exercise (such as a Linking Learning to Administration). As Linking Learning exercises are based on what was learned from the activity, not the time spent, your participation on a committee or at a single meeting could possibly generate multiple questions or learning opportunities. The exercise requires you to generate a question on information that you have acquired as a result of your participation on that committee.

- Click on the large Mainpro+ logo on the centre of the screen to the right of the PROFILE box
- Click on ENTER A CPD ACTIVITY – green button below your name (in the top left of the screen
- Select the Category type and click on Assessment
- Click on Certified
- Click on specific Linking Learning exercise

Medical Psychotherapy Association of Canada
You may claim credits for participation on a CPSO committee. You can count the hours spent participating at committee meetings as CCI under the CanMEDS Role Leader. (There is a maximum to this type of CPD activity that is not in the Medical Expert Role.) All work outside of committee meeting time is not eligible for CPD credits. Please note email correspondence is not eligible for CPD credits.

- Click on CE/CCI
- Login
- Click on Create New Item
- In right hand column – CCI
- Click on Meeting (Committee, Board, AGM - MDPAC or other) and
- Then complete the entry, giving the date and other information
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Depending upon your activity and engagement, you are eligible to claim the activity under Section 2: Quality Care/Patient Safety Committee and you will be awarded 15 credits per committee per year. My MOC will ask you to indicate the name of the committee and your thoughts, conclusions, or outcomes identified.
- Any of the research or preparation time for the committee meetings can be claimed in Section 2: Personal Learning Project (PLP) for 2 credits per In MAINPORT, the template will ask you to record the topic or subject of the PLP and your thoughts, conclusions, or outcomes.
The Royal College has support tools for all physicians participating in the MOC Program that range from helping physicians identify their learning needs, to recording their activities and outcomes in the My MOC.
