1. Do I need to submit proof of completion for each QI activity completed in Step 1?

No. You do not need to submit proof of completion for each of the QI activities you choose to complete in Step 1. Only the QI Activity Record and Reflection must be completed and submitted to CPSO. However, participants are encouraged to retain their certificates of completion in the event that CPSO performs a random audit, and for the purposes of CPD credits.

2. Can I pick any 3 QI activities I choose for the purposes of Step 1?

Participants must choose a minimum of 3 activities from the provided menu for the purposes of completing Step 1.

3. What if I’ve previously completed one of the listed QI activities? Can this count as one of my activities?

If you completed one of the modules listed on our QI Activity Options within the last 6 months, you may count it towards your QI Program participation. Remember to retain a record of your certificate of completion if CPSO requests it.

4. Are there any limitations to what I can use as a problem and intervention within my Practice Improvement Plan?

The Practice Improvement Plan and criteria that CPSO Medical Advisors and CPSO QI Coaches will use to review your PIP is here. Your PIP must meet each of the criteria for it to be considered to have met QI Enhanced program expectations.

5. What happens if my Practice Improvement Plan (PIP) does not meet criteria on first submission?

You will be provided 10 business days to revise and resubmit your PIP.

6. What do I have to discuss at the QI coaching session?

The coaching session is an opportunity to discuss your reflections from completing the three QI activity modules you selected and to review your Practice Improvement Plan (PIP) alongside the coach’s evaluation. This includes discussing both strengths and areas for further development, with the QI coach offering feedback and guidance to help enhance your PIP.

7. What is the role of the QAC after completing my QI Enhanced requirements?

Following completion of the QI Enhanced program, the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) reviews your participation including the coach’s report to confirm that Quality requirements have been met. In some cases, the QAC may request that you participate in a peer and practice assessment.

8. Where can I provide feedback about my program experience?

Your perspectives on the QI Program components and format are exceptionally important to us. Following the completion of your QI Enhanced requirements, we ask that participants take a moment to provide feedback using the link available within their QI Program page in the CPSO Portal.
