Your voice matters! Patients and caregivers play a crucial role in supporting CPSO’s role in serving in the public interest within the province’s health-care system. Here’s how you can make a difference.

Whether you’re a patient or caregiver with recent or frequent interactions with Ontario’s health-care system, or someone simply interested in improving health regulation, we want to hear from you.

Share your feedback in Policy Consultations

We regularly seek feedback on draft policies open for consultation. Your perspective, along with the voices of doctors, physician assistants, and other health-care professionals, helps us ensure our work meets the needs of the public.

  • Participate in online surveys
  • Share your opinion in online discussion boards. We use your feedback to help shape the next draft of a policy.

Provide your feedback. See current consultations and share your thoughts.

Join our Citizen Advisory Group

The Citizen Advisory Group provides vital patient and caregiver perspectives on health-care regulation in Ontario. Members from across the province provide essential feedback on standards of practice, policies, and priorities directed at the public. The Group also supports Ontario’s health regulatory colleges incorporating patient and caregiver voices into their decision-making.

Apply for a position on our Board of Directors

Nearly half of CPSO’s Board of Directors are members of the public, appointed by the provincial government. Public members come from diverse backgrounds including business, finance, academia, public policy, administration, and more.

We also require that a certain number of public members sit on our statutory committees, including the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal and our Quality Assurance and Registration committees.
