The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is committed to serving the people of Ontario through effective regulation of physicians and physician assistants (“Registrants”). The CPSO Board of Directors (Board) is responsible for governing the affairs of CPSO in fulfilling its duty to serve in the public interest.

The Board election is open to Registrants from across Ontario and provides the opportunity to serve the public interest by participating directly in medical regulation and help guide decisions that impact patient care and the profession.

Key Dates

  • Application period opens: October 6, 2025
  • Application period closes: October 24, 2025
  • Voting Opens: February 17, 2026
  • Voting closes: March 10, 2026

How to apply

The Notice of Election will be sent by email from the CPSO Registrar to Registrants on October 6, 2025, with details on the application process. Eligible applications will be forwarded to the Board’s Governance and Nominating Committee (GNC) for review to be considered for the Election’s Slate of Nominees.

Vote

Voting is conducted confidentially online. When voting opens, eligible Registrants will receive an email with instructions from a third-party elections company. You are eligible to vote in the CPSO Board Election if:

  • Your business address is in Ontario, or
  • You currently reside in Ontario

By voting, you help ensure your voice is heard and CPSO’s Board reflects a broad range of perspectives from the profession.
